Since 1975, Maglificio Tonello has developed its story around a special thread that embodies a passion for high-end knitting and research into technology and style, with the aim of taking the typical taste and knowhow of genuine ‘Made in Italy’ out into the world.
The dream of founder Giuliano Tonello and his wife Gigliola was to create, in the heart of the Veneto countryside with its wealth of artisan culture and values, a textile business that would stand out over the years for its exquisite articles and efficient production. A dream followed with determination and a capacity for original interpretation of ever-changing demands from the international fashion sector.
The eighties and nineties saw a series of expansions to the company processes with the introduction of better performing machinery and production systems for high-end knitting, supplied by German sector leader Stoll, through to achievement of the perfect combination of cutting-edge technology and attention to hand-made details.

Machinery increased and so did the volume of articles produced for the most prestigious international top fashion labels and in about 2000 daughter Sara and son Paolo joined the Tonello company.
For Maglificio Tonello, this marked the start of a new stage of technological innovation and further expansion of the production division, which today numbers 100 knitting machines.
The Tonello family, custodians of a rich textile tradition, are today looking to the future of the excellent art of knitting, continuing to invest in innovation and to elevate the quality of their products.
